BayAreaKnitter Podcast - Episode 3: Meet Chili our Chinchilla!

Welcome to Episode 3 of my Bayareaknitter Podcast, where I introduce my lovely daughter, Caitlin, and Chili our Chinchilla! This episode is a bit shorter than the last one, but I wanted to get something up this week. Now that the kiddos are out of school, it's a bit of a challenge to find a quiet moment around here. But I'm determined to make it work and to keep podcasting on a regular weekly basis. On a sidenote, I have to apologize for not getting around to announcing the winner from last week's giveaway! As promised in this episode, here's the photo of Chili in the toy shopping cart. Caitlin has been giving him rides around the house in it! ;)

I've also fallen prey to the mitered square addiction that seems to be going around on all the social media sites! Below you'll see photos of my very first squares. I used fingering weight sock yarn for both. Although I ended up frogging the smaller one and re-knitting it at the larger gauge combined with another yarn to give it a striping effect. I like the fabric better at the 41 stitch gauge on size US 3 needles. My original plan was to make the Sock Yarn Blanket or "Scrappy Happy Blanket" as some people call it. But I'm now thinking it might make a lovely wrap or shawl! We'll see once I get further along. I cast on 31 stitches and used size US 2 needles for this one.

Well I did it! I just recorded my 2nd episode, and I did it all by myself this time! Whew! Still a little nervous at first, but I'm getting there! My new Bayareaknitter Podcast is now LIVE!

After contemplating this for quite awhile, I've decided to take the plunge and join the podcasting world! I've been really bad at keeping up with this blog on a regular basis, but I think podcasting may get me back into the swing of things! It's much easier to talk about things, and just say what I want to say! So, here I am! You're about to watch my first episode! My wonderful friend, designer, Lorna Miser was kind enough to be my first guest and help me break out of my comfort zone. This is totally unedited and raw! What you see is what you get! And I had total stage fright during the first few seconds... or maybe it was minutes... Anyways, just watch... you'll see... I did get more comfortable once we got going!  We filmed this at her home in Folsom, CA yesterday morning. We had just returned from a week in Columbus, Ohio where we attended TNNA (The National Needlearts Association Tradeshow). So, we were very tired and unorganized. But we tried to give a little recap of the event, although I know we left out so many things! I promise to take better notes and create an outline for my next episode where I will share more goodies with you that I brought home from the show! Please leave a comment here on this post and let me know what you think! I would love it if you would tell me what YOU would like to see and hear me talk about! Give me some ideas! One thing I've already noticed is that the volume seems really low on this episode. I do believe I need to wear a mic. Something I didn't think about while recording yesterday.
